PHP Software Architect

Senior - Flexible Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced PHP Architect to lead the design and evolution of our FoodTech platform. You will define technical direction, oversee architectural decisions, and ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

Own system architecture & technical roadmap.

Define API standards; design scalable, secure services.

Lead legacy→modern migration with zero/low downtime.

Own security by design: threat modeling, secrets management, following OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) standards, and regular audits.

Own observability: logging, metrics, tracing; define SLIs (Service Level Indicators) and SLOs (Service Level Objectives).

Design for HA/DR (High Availability & Disaster Recovery): redundancy, failover, backups, with defined RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective).

Guide performance and cost optimization (caching, queues, databases).

Mentor engineers and perform architecture reviews.

Requirements

Expert PHP 8.3+ (Laravel or similar) at system-design level.

Proven microservices/event-driven architecture experience.

Strong MySQL schema design, indexing, replication/backup.

Solid understanding of cloud architectures (AWS preferred).

Security best practices (Identity and Access Management, least privilege, secrets management).

Experience designing observability strategies (metrics, tracing, logging).

HA/DR design (multi-availability zones, autoscaling strategies, health checks).

Excellent communication & leadership skills.

Nice to have

Hands-on CI/CD pipeline setup (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK).

Monitoring and alerting stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).

Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, SQS/Kafka/RabbitMQ.

Feature flags, chaos engineering, load testing (K6/Locust).

Admin tooling (Laravel Nova / Laravel Filament) for internal ops.
